*Greeting, welcome to ‘The Caravanserai’* Kempsey Macleay Belly Dance Inc. presents the 5th Mid North Coast Bellydance Festival.

The theme this year is ‘Caravanserai, evocative of ‘exotic silks’, harems, drifting sands, camel trains & desert trade routes. Travellers & camel drivers took shelter in the ‘Caravanserai’. There was much gaiety, feasting, drinking, drumming and dancing – creating a festive atmosphere.

So come all you dancers, drummers and silk traders and gather at The Caravanserai for the 5th Mid North Coast Belly Dance Festival.

This will be an exciting, energised and fun filled 3 day event on 11th, 12th & 13th September 2009 to be held in Kempsey on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW.

Caravanserai Bellydance Ball - 5th Mid North Coast Bellydance Festival 2009 - Kempsey

This magnificent Festival will begin on Friday morning with a diverse array of workshops presented by master teachers. Friday night will be full of fun and excitement as we all attend Caravanserai “The Belly Dance Ball’. So dress up in your costume finery (optional) and dance the night away at the Belly dance Ball, full of atmosphere, good food and sizzling with gaiety and excitement.

On Saturday there will be more exciting workshops ending the day with Caravanserai ‘The Concert’. We are planning a spectacular event, not to be missed.

Sunday, head to Caravanserai ‘The Bazaar’ large undercover markets, where you can shop ‘til you drop’ There will be Vendors from all over the State and Interstate selling everything your belly dance heart desires. There will be lots to see for the family too. Food vendors will be presenting delicious cuisine to make your mouth water. When you’ve tired (temporarily) from shopping, sit a while and watch the talents of the Sunday Serai Performers, at the same undercover venue.

The 3 day ‘The Mid North Coast Belly Dance Festival’ will be the biggest and best ever.

It is with great enthusiasm & gratitude that Kempsey Macleay Bellydance Inc. accepts the gift of organsing the 5th Mid North Coast Bellydance Festival.

This generous gift was given by Dekyong Sun and the Manning Valley Middle Eastern Dance Inc.

In such a short time we are already a strong committee, dedicated to bringing the festival to its full potential, embracing the Goddess in all her belly dance forms.

On a personal note, I thank Dek for her trust, and accept the challenge with heart & soul.
